My Ornery Little Boys

But they're so cute!

Too bad Mom isn't here anymore. She'd pay for another ride, and maybe even watch the boys so my dh and I could go to a movie.

But she's three thousand miles away--probably hard at work writing her next release, Faery Special Romances.

Or playing video games. Being a writer and a grandmother must be very stressful. In fact, you can read all about how stressful her life is at her Amazon blog or her myspace page. Hmmm, maybe I should get a myspace page.

Sheesh, and I think scraping crayons off the wallpaper and play dough out of the carpet while rescuing the baby from my son's scissors is a lot of work! Gotta go--there are four hungry boys to feed.

Look what Mom's writing now!

When Mules Rush In
a short story by
Jacquie Rogers
in
Blue Moon Enchantment
When Mules Rush In is a western fantasy and features Merlin--you might remember him from King Arthur. Well, now he's a matchmaking mule who has his hooves full with a sassy chicken named DeborahAnne.
What the critique say:

The title may be When Mules Rush In, but readers should rush in to read this hilariously funny story, expertly penned by Jacquie Rogers. Ms Rogers spins a yarn of love and desire between a gambler in a Stetson and a debutante carrying a hoe, while a determined mule named Merlin stirs up magic with his tail, along with the help of a bossy chicken named DeborahAnne. When Mules Rush In is the story of salvation that unites lovers, both mortal and immortal, while being a ripping comedy sure to make the reader laugh out loud.

NO LAW AGAINST LOVE is now available!!!

I'm so excited!

My mom, Jacquie Rogers, has two stories in No Law Against Love, an anthology published by Highland Press:
Faery Good Advice, and
Single Girls Can't Jump.

These are really great stories! Actually I haven't read them so I don't know if they're worth a darn or not. But she's my momma, so of course they're good. Besides, I helped her plot them, especially Single Girls Can't Jump. She couldn't write a word without me, you know. Well, me and sticky papers.

Where to buy No Law Against Love :

Amazon
Barnes & Noble
Highland Press
Your independent bookstore.

The 16 authors must be pretty serious about making money for breast cancer research. Here's the press release:

Jacquie Rogers and fifteen other writers from the US, Canada, and Europe, have banded together to benefit breast cancer research. Rogers contributed two of the twenty-four short stories contained in an anthology titled NO LAW AGAINST LOVE, which is due out just in time for Valentine’s Day. The anthology was conceived by the editors at Highland Press to launch their new Wee Dram imprint. All profits from the sale of this book, including author royalties, will be donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

Each story in the anthology pokes fun at silly laws from all over the world and celebrates the joy of falling in love. The stories are heartwarming and hilarious. This anthology is available from all major online retailers, including Amazon.com, or ordered at your local bookstore.

"I am delighted to be part of this project," said Rogers, a frequent presenter at local Seattle writers’ conferences and on-line writing instructor. According to Highland Press editors Leanne Burroughs and DeborahAnne MacGillivray, "We wanted to commemorate the launch of our new imprint in a special way. The NO LAW AGAINST LOVE collection will make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift while supporting a worthy cause."
